CFUW Peterborough is a part of a larger national organization that was founded in 1919. We are an independent, non-partisan group of women that works locally, provincially, nationally, and internationally to promote human rights and advocate for appropriate social policy.
The primary goals of our organization are:
to promote life-long learning
to encourage education for women and girls
to provide local awards, bursaries and scholarships
to promote human rights and improve the status of women
to encourage an informed interest in public affairs
to serve the community and support local causes
to provide social and networking opportunities for women
CFUW Peterborough is a relatively small but dynamic group. We represent a diversity of like-minded women. From September to May, we meet on the fourth Thursday of the month for a general meeting featuring an informative speaker. We provide opportunities to socialize, network, participate in life-long learning and engage in thought provoking discussions. In addition, our interest groups meet throughout the month and allow members to explore their many interests.

At our Festive Luncheon, CFUW Peterborough chose to support the Peterborough Culinary Collaborative - a program working to address food insecurity and assist new Canadians.
Many thanks to our membership for their generosity!
